This being the day appointed for the meeting of the Gen-
eral Assembly The honble President was pleased to acquaint
the members of the Board now present with what he intended
to say to them which was approved of
The Case of S^r Thomas Lawrence her Majesty's Secretary
being therein very earnestly recommended to the Delegates
by the honble President

L^t Col Hoskins L^t Col Tilghman Ward Major Hammond
& M^r Samuel Worthington came & acquainted the honble
President that a Sufficient number of their Delegates were
met to make up an House
The Honble Samuel Young Esq^r & L^t Col Tilghman are
sent to acquaint M^r Speaker & the House of Delegates that
the Honourable Presid^t is ready to receive them in the Coun-
cil Chamber

They return and say they have delivered their Message.
Whereupon M^r Speaker & the members of the House of
Delegates came to the Council Chamber and the honble
President was pleased to speak to them as followeth. Viz.

M^r Speaker & you Gentlemen of the House of Delegates
Nothing of Consequence happening since the last Session
I have with the advice of her Majesty's honourable Council as
well as by my own Inclination delayed Convening you till this
time I perswade myself you will approve my Conduct therein
and will now heartily join with us in concerting the Speediest
Methods for accomplishing the necessary Business of this
