    day of Iany In the tenth year of the reign of our Sovereign

    Lord William the third by the Grace of God of England

    Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &ca

    Annoq Dni 1698/9

                        Present

     His Excellency Nathaniel Blakiston Esqr Captain General

    and Governor in chief in & over this his Majestys Province

                  Collo Hen lowles

                  Tho Tench Esqr

     the honble   Collo John Addison of his Majestys

                  Collo John Courts Council

                  Majr John Hammond

     Produced and read his most Sacred Majestys Royal

    Commission under the Great Seal of England dated at

    Westminster the nineteenth of October in the tenth year

    of his said Majestys Reign &ca Annoq Dni 1698 constituting

    & appointing his said Excellency Nath Blakiston Esqr Cap

    tain General & Governor in chief in & over this his Majestys

    Province of Maryland & after the reading & publishing

    whereof his said Excellency Nathaniel Blakiston Esqr took

    the Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament instead of the

    Oaths of Allegiance & Supremacy which were administred

    to him by the Gentlemen of his Majstys Council his said Ex

    cellency also Subscribed the Test & Association after which

    he took the Oath appointed By Act of Parliament Annis 70         p. 204

    & 8° of his present Majesty Intituled an act for preventing

    frauds & Regulating abuses in the Plantation Trade

     And then proceeded to administer the oaths of Allegiance

    &ca & the oath of Counsellor to the Several Gentlemen of

    his Majestys Council now present which they took & after

    wards Subscribed the Test and Association

     William Bladen Sworne Clk of his Majstys honble Council

    took the said oaths appointed by act of Parliament instead

    of the oaths of allegiance & Supremacy & Subscribed the

    Test & Association

     Then was produced & read his Excellencys Proclamation

    under the Great Seal of this Province for the Continuing of

    all Officers civil & Military in their Respective Stations until

    further orders from his Excellency & his Excellency is pleased

    to deliver the Great Seal to the honble Collo Henry Iowles
