The Upper House. 291


Ordered that George Plater Esqr her Majesty's Receiver of
the District of Patuxent pay unto Wm Bladen out of the same
Duty of 3d p Hhd for arms fifty shill he paid Col Hynson for
cleansing and fixing the Arms in Kent County
It being found by Experience that the mending & fixing
Arms in this Province is very chargeable & will not answer
the end designed but that it is cheaper to buy new ones from
England ordered that no more of the sd Duty of 3d p Hhd be
applyed that way but only for purchasing new arms.
Thos Brooke Esqr the present Judge of the Court of Ad-
miralty living remote from this place ordered that a Commis-
sion be prepared for the honble Col John Hammond to be
Judge of that Court
Major Dent & Mr Lynes bring up the Address to her Ma:ty
signed by the members of the House & an order to the Treas-
urer of the Western Shoar to pay his Excellcy £200 the Re-
mainder of the Assembly's Donation to his Excellency last
Session
Which was assented to by the House and returned by the
said Major Dent & Mr Lynes
Came Major Whittington and Capt Hutchinson who pre-
sented Mr Philemon Lloyd a Delegate for Talbot who took the
oaths &c to her Majesty & Subscribed the Test. The said
Major Whittington & Capt Hutchinson also brought up an
ordinance for repairing the Stadt House

By the House of Delegates June 26th 1702

This house having received Information that the Stadt
House in Annapolis is leaky & out of repair & is very likely
to be worse unless Speedy Care be taken to prevent it
Therefore resolved that Col John Hammond Mr Samuel
Young & Capt Lawrence Draper or any two of them be
desired to View the House & see what repairs are wanting,
so that it may be amended and at any other Time when any
Defect shall appear they would please to Employ such work-
men for Speedy repair as to them shall seem meet, and that
such work shall be satisfied out of the publick if his Excellency
& the Councill shall concurr herewith

Committee of Accounts which upon Perusal & Examination
was assented to by his Excellency the Governeur & Council
