Tobb^o and money Amounting to the Sume of Two hundred
Twenty two Thousand two Hundred ffifty and Eight Pounds
of Tobb^o and ffive Hundred Sixty & nine Pounds five shillings
and Eight Pence Sterling but by reason more Publick charges
may Arrize and growe due before the usuall and Accustomed
time of Paym^t which is the tenth day of October Yearely at
which time againe to Call and Convene the whole Assembly
for that Occasion only considereing the great Number of them
& the remoteness of their habitation from the place appointed
would be very chargeable and burthensome to the whole Pro-
vince in Gen^ll for the Prevention whereof
Be it Enacted by the Kings most Ex^t Maj^ty by and with the
Advice and consent of this Present Gen^ll Assembly and the
Authority of the same that one Burgess or Dellegate out of
Each County and one out of the Citty of S^t Maryes Be and
are hereby Authorized and Appointed A Committee to Joyne
with some of his Maj^ts hon^e Councill to Lay and equally Assess
the s^d Publick Leavy of this Province Viz of his Maj^ts Hono^ble
Councill Thomas Brooke Esq^r and Coll John Hammond and
of the house of Dellegates Coll Thom^s Smithson Speaker
for Talbott County Capt Thomas Waughop for the Citty of
St. Maryes Maj^r Jn^o Lowe for the County of St. Maryes Major

Thomas Smith For Kent County Capt Richard Hill and
M^r James Saunders for Ann Arrundell County Major Walter
Smith for Calvert County Capt Phillip Hoskins for Charles
County M^r John Hall for Baltemore County Coll. John Tomp-
son for Cecill County M^r Thomas Greenfeild for Prince Georges
County Maj^r Thom^s Ennalls for Dorchester Co^ty and M^r Jn^o
Bozman for Sommersett County or the Major pte of them
shalbe and appeare at the towne of Annapolis on the Tenth
day of October next then and there to lay & Assess the Pub-
lick Leavy Allready raized and Alsoe to Allow Leavy & Assess
what further charge may Accrew which to them shall Justly
appeare to be due from the Publick not Exceeding Sixty Thou-
sand pounds af tobb^o more then what is Allready raized and
likewise to Apporcon order and pay out of the Publick Treary
of this Province the Sume of Five Hundred Sixty nine pounds
five Shillings and Eight Pence Sterl to the Severall persons to
whom the same shalbe due as by the Journall of the Comittee
of Accounts appeares and A fair Journall of All the proceedings
to deliver to the Clerke of the Assembly for the Satisfaction
of all persons therewith concerned and if it shall happen that
his Ex^cy shall please to Convene an Assembly before the Tenth
day of October aforesaid Then this p^rsent Act and All and
every clause therein contained shalbe Void and of noe force.
