Virginia concerned in Counterfeiting the Currency of the
United States. As Secrecy & expedition are necessary to-
wards brings these wretches to punishment, We have not the
least doubt but That Your Excellency, & the Country will
adopt such measures you may deem necessary for accomplish-
ing this End and are with the greatest respect & Esteem
Sir
P. S. The enclosed Letters were Your Excellencys most
referred, to the Maryland Delegates Obedient Servants
who have not been able to get Wm Paca
information of any such man Wm Cormichael
in our State. They therefore James Forbes
refer the same to Dan of St Thos Jenifer
Your Excellency & the Council
The Count De Staigne with his
Fleet and Army are off Georgia.

Present as on Saturday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Joseph
Cowman Junr Sixty three Pounds for the use of McHard &
Compy p Account passed by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Samuel McPherson of
the 1st Maryland Regimt Two thousand Dollars in leiw of the
Articles for the present Year allowed by the late Act of Assy
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut William Bruce of the
same Regt two thousand Dollars in leiw of the Articles for the
present year allowed by the late Act of Assembly

Tuesday 28 September 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the Commissary of Issues send in the Galley
Independence 6 Barrels of Pork to Capt Geo. Keeports for the
use of the Matrosses in Baltimore
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Como Thomas
Grason five hundred Pounds on Acct
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Reith Six Pounds
fifteen shillings to pay for Wafers for the use of the Council
That the said Treasurer pay to William Smoot Seventy three
Pounds thirteen shillings and nine Pence Per Account passed
by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Eastman one thousand
seven hundred and thirty four Pounds for the use of Eastman
& Neth p Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
