John Stevenson Lieut of Marines on board the Gaily Inde-
pendence resigns his Commission which is accepted
Commissions issued to John Brice appointed Capt. Samuel
Harvy Howard first Lieut, John Davidson 2d Lieut, John Muir
3d Lieut, of an Independent Compy of Militia in the City of
Annapolis also to Gilbert Middleton appointed Captain John
Callahan i Lieut, William Goldsmith 2d Lieut and Cornelius
Mills 3d Lieut, of an Independent Compy of Militia in the City
of Annapolis and also to William Maccubbin appointed Capt.
Vincent Green i Lieut, Job Smith 2d Lieut. Thomas Colegate
Ens. of Colo Darby Lux's Batt. of Mila in Baltimore Couuty
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Townsly Twenty three Pounds, fifteen shillings per Acct passed
by the Depy Audr
That the said Treasurer pay to Mary Logan Twenty five
Pounds for the Use of William Logan due him p Acct passed
by the Aud. Genls Depy
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel Hughes, Three hun-
dred and sixty three Pounds, sixteen shillings & two pence
and the further Sum of One hundred and one Pounds, fifteen
shillings for the use of Capt. John Kershner & his Compy of
Guards over Prisoners of War at Fort Frederick per Pay roll
examined and passed by the Audr Genl
Noli Prosequi issued to Sarah Seward of Dorchester County
against any Prosecution for Bastardy.
By and with the advice of the Council Pardon was granted
to John Tims of Queen Annes County convicted in the General
Court for the Eastern Shore for Treason
Permission is hereby given to Mrs Elizabeth Gordon Wife of
Charles Gordon formerly of this State on her obtaining the
proper Pass for that Purpose to go into the City of New York
& to Return
Bennett Matthews Resigns his Commission of Captain of
the Galley Independence which is accepted
John Jackson who enterred into the Service of this State on
board the Chester Galley having since his engaging in the
Service lost the use of his left Hand He is discharged from
the Service

Monday 22d March 1779

Present as on Saturday except Thomas Sim Lee Esqr
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to William
Biles a 9 months Soldier in the 5th Maryland Regimt the
amount of Twenty three Pounds ten shillings in Cloathing &
one Blanket, to Stephen Penn a 9 mo Soldier in the Ist Maryld
Regimt the amount of Fourteen Pounds five shillings and six
