Mercy exercised, if it shall appear proper.

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James
Freeland Five Pounds, twelve shillings & six Pence per Acct
passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Littell sixty four
Pounds seventeen shillings & six Pence per Acct passed by the
Depy Aud.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt. Will.
Campbell 138 pr stockings 138 pr Shoes, 138 Shirts & 69
Hatts due his Compy of Matrosses

In Council Annapolis 17th Febry 1779
Sir.
We request that you'll furnish the Galley Conqueror with
any Number that may be thought necessary of the Matross
Company in Baltimore not exceeding a Lieutenant, a Ser-
geant, a Corporal and sixteen Privates. We expect this ser-
vice will be agreeable to the Officers and Men.

In Council Annapolis 17th Feby 1779
Sir.
We hoped to have got the Conqueror off, on Monday, she
went off, however yesterday Morning and expect she got up
last night; we expect the Chester will be ready before the
Conqueror can get down. We have recommended the Con-
queror to Capt Nicholson's Care, as also the Dolphin to have
her Masts fitted. It is very agreeable to us that Capt. Nichol-
son should command the Conqueror, the Moderation he has
shewed is highly praiseworthy in him and pleasing to us; we
had no Idea of either of our Captains commanding Capt Nichol-
son, the Commodore goes in the Chester and from his Dispo-
sition we expect the greatest Harmony: we have no Objection
