House met. The Clarke of this house being returned
saith that he delivered the Message by him sent to their Ma^tys
hon^ble Councill.

The house adjourned untill 7 of the Clock on Munday

Message [from the Hon^ble] Councill.

By the hon^ble his [Ma'^ys Council in Assembly,] May the 2^d
1696.

This Board has perused [a message of] your house by your
Clarke sent touching the [Shipps] &c. And for answer re-
turne that they are of Opinion it will conduce most to his
Ma^tys Service that the Shipps now in the Country be cleared
as they are got ready and for the Reasons already layd before
the house which this Board take to be good Reasons.

The which Message being read was ordered to be sent up
again to his Ma^ty hon^ble Councill with the following Answer
endorsed.

By the house of Burgesses May the 4^th 1696.

That the house concurr with the Opinion of his Ma^tys hon^ble
