62 Records of Maryland Troops in the Continental Service Cecil County, July 20th, 1776. I hereby certify that I have mustered Twenty men Enrolled by Mr. John Stockton, Jr., Second Lieutenant of a Company of Militia to be raised in Cecil County to make part of the Flying Camp, and that they are a parcel of able bodied effective men. Given under my hand the day and year above. Jno. D. Thompson, Lieut. Col. 18th Batt. Cecil County, July 29th, 1776. Sirs-Mr. Richard Bird has Enrolled Sixteen men, part of Capt. George's Company, Three of which did not appear at the time the others met to be mustered and passed. The other Thirteen are able bodied effective men. The whole of Mr. Bird's men will in a day or two be mustered and passed. As Capt. George is anxious to go to Annapolis to get Directions, it is thought not necessary to detain him for the few remaining. In a few days a Roll of the whole will be trans mitted to you.
