    Return of Sundry Soldiers of Lee's Legion by Capt. Michl.
Rudolph in October, 1783.


    I do hereby certify that the bearer hereof John McColla Served
three years in the 4th regt. Light Dragoons, as a private, and that he
was a Citizen of the State of Maryland, and has been returned as one
of its Soldiers. Nor has he received any consideration for the depre
ciation of his pay during the term of his Service, which commenced
10th April, 1777.

    I do certify that the bearer hereof, James McCrackin, (McCrack
ing), a dragoon of the Partizan Legion, Commanded by Lieut. Col.
Henry Lee, belonging to the State of Maryland has pay due him for his
service in the Legion, from the first day of April, 1780, to this date,
deducting one Months pay rec'd in cloathing.
           Given this 20th Aug., 1783
             Michl. Rudulph,
  Capt., Lee's Legion.
    Same to John Kinkead, (Kincaid), of Delaware.


    By Virtue of the Orders of the Honble. Major Genl. Green, John
Wisham, the Bearer hereof, Belonging to the Third Troop of the Partizan
Legion, Commanded by Lieut. Col. Henry Lee, has Leave of Absence till
called for, and then to repair to such rendezvous as shall be appointed in
the State of Maryland, under pain of being considered and treated as a
Deserter, the said Summons being published in the Maryland News
papers three Weeks successively, to be considered as sufficient Notice.
Given under my Hand this 17th Day of June, 1783.

    Same to John Manly, George Boice and Robert Crouch of the
Second Troop June 12th, 1783, George Hill of the Second Troop June
1 9th, 1783, and Jessey Cosby of the First Troop and William French of
the Third Troop June 28th, 1783. Also the same to Thomas Broom of
the First Troop March 20th, 1784, and William Dowdie of the Second
Troop March 30th, 1784, signed by James Armstrong, Capt. 1st Troop.


*This has been accidentally misplaced. John McColla belonged
 to Moylan's (see page 599).
