the Kings, and that he would not heare any thing in the name
of the Lord Propry but if wee came with any thing in the name
of the King he would heare it, and if we came with any other
power he disowned it and if we could take away the said
George Talbott by force, we might, but upon noe other
tearmes would he lett him be taken off on board, but that he
would carry him downe to Virginia to my Lord Effingham, in
ordr to be tryed for the ffact as he should appoint; for he
owned noe other power in these parts but his, we afterwards
asked the said Commandr whither he would read the power
that we came there by, or whither he would give us leave to
read it openly in his Cabin, he told us he would not suffer any

thing to be read there in the name of the Lord Baltemore, but
gave consent that Nehemiah Blackiston might read it to him-
self, and withall told us severall times that it was a bold
attempt of us to come in any such way aboard the Kings shipp
