At a Councell held at St Maries the 13th of June in the first
yeare of his Lopps Dominion &c Annoq Dom. 1676.

Then were the Articles of Warr read the tenor whereof
follow in these words viz.
Articles of Warr.
imprimis. Whosoever shall use any unlawfull Oath or Execra-
tion, if an Officer shall be severely reprehended at a Court
Martiall, But if a Souldier he shall for every such first Offence
forfeit twelve pence or the value thereof to be deducted Out
of his next pay, and for the second Offence shall forfeit twelve
pence or the value thereof as before and be laid in Irons for
twelve hours, and for every like Offence afterwards shall pay
and Suffer in like manner.
If any Officer or private Soldier shall presume to blas-
pheme the holy and undivided Trinity or the persons of
God the ffather God the Sonn or God the holy Ghost or shall
presume to Speake against any knowne Article of the Chris-
tian ffaith he shall have his toungue bored through with a red
hott iron.
If any Officer or Soldier shall abuse or prophane any
3dly place dedicated to the Worshipp of God or shall Offer
violence to any Chaplaine or Minister of the Army or any
other minister of Gods word he shall suffer such punishment
as shall be inflicted on him by a Court martiall, But whosoever
will take any of the Utensils or Ornaments belonging or dedi-
cated to Gods worshipp in any Church or Chappell shall suffer
death for the ffact ;
After the service of God Almighty all Officers and
4thly Soldiers shall to the best of their skill power and under-
standing faithfully serve his Lopp the Lord Proprietary or his
Leivtenant Generall and Cheife Governour for the time being

or Condition soever shall for himselfe take the following
Oath which shall be administred by such person or persons
