left in any psons hands whatsoever since the last march
against the Susquehanough or by the Rangers & them to see
fixt and prserved for his Lopps Use.
Ordered that all Chirurgeons to the regiments On ffoot &
Troopers be paid Out of the publique for all such Chirurgery
meanes they shall expend in the Country's Service. And
what the ffarriers shall doe be likewise allowed Out of the
publiq.
Ordered that Capt John Allen doe prohibite all or any
armed men whatsoever from entrying the ffort at Matta-
woman without leave from the Deputy Governour & Councell
and that in case he meete any men in Armes when he is
ranging who have not Comission from the Goverment of this
Province or lycence from the Govermt of this Province to
enter this province (in case they bel'ong to any other Gover-
ment) that he endeavour to oppose their march into or through
this province if he be able, & if he be not able to hinder their
entrance or oppose their march through this Province, that he
make an honourable retreate to Mattawoman ffort, or other
place as the Occasion shall require, & advantage shall offer &
from thence to Certifie the Deputy Leivtenant & Councell of
his whole proceedings & the force of the Enemy & so to
attend further Orders from the Deputy Leivtenant.
