We the subscribers Inhabitants of Baltimore do certify that
Cornels Clopper Junr an Inhabitant of Baltimore Town, is a
Biscuit Baker by trade, and do think him to be a Judge of said
trade & a good baker, therefore we do recommend him to all
our friends in case they should have any business of that sort
to do:

Monday 8 July 1776.
Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday.
Copy of Letter No 7 was sent to Mr Matthias Hammond.
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Mr
William Nivan two Barrs of Steel.
Copy of Letter No 8 was sent to Mr Stephen Steward.
Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Doctr Wiesenthal, for the use of John Hart, seventy two
Pounds Common money for Leather Breeches for the Troops.
Copy of Letter No 9 was sent to Col. Thomas Dorsey.
Ordered That Michael Hart and Lawrence Keenan of Capt.
John Fulford's of Artillery be discharged from the Service of
this Colony.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
William Thomas six Pounds Currency for two Musquets.
Ordered That half a months Pay be advanced by the Pay-
master to Col. Small wood' s Battalion.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt Peter Adams sixty five pounds four Shillings and ten
pence on Account of his Company.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay toCapt. John H.
Stone thirty pounds two shillings and eleven pence on Account
of his Company.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Captn Patrick Sim
twenty pounds nine Shillings and five pence on Account of
his Company.
Ordered that Lieutenant Nicholas Rauxton Moore be em-
powered to hire any number of men not exceeding fifty to
