Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
William Niven ten pounds common Money on Account.
Ordered That James Taylor be requested to go to Balti-
more Town, and take the Dimensions of the Carriages for the
18 pounders.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Major Price seventeen pounds one Shilling and a penny.
That the said Treasurer pay to Major Price forty eight
pounds eight Shillings and nine Pence being the difference
of pay directed to be paid by a Resolution of Convention on
the third Day of this Instant.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Cayten twelve Shil-
lings, the Amount of his Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Mr Patrick Busk thirty four
Shillings, the Amount of his Account
Ordered that Major Price continue at Annapolis till the
further Orders of the Council.
Ordered that warrants issue agreeable to the Recommenda-
tion of the Committee of Frederick County to the following
persons to raise and command the two German Companies to
be raised there. to wit,


Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
each of the said Captains 300 Dollars, each Lieutenant 200
Dollars and each Ensign 160 Dollars for Bounty money for
their respective Companies.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.

To Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Somervill
Sir. We received yours of the 1st and by the same oppor-
tunity one also from Colonel Richard Barnes informing us
that Lord Dunmore and the Fleet were within the mouth of
Potowmack, and as he heard, intended to take Possession of
an Island called Saint Georges Island, but as their designs are
uncertain, we think you had better give notice to your Bat-
talion to keep themselves in readiness to march to oppose
any attempt they may make to Land in your County and like-
wise to assist in any neighbouring County.
Captain Beall will have orders from us to remain in Saint
Marys County with Colonel Barnes to watch the motions
