Wednesday 10^th July 1776.

Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Lieutenant William Sterett, for the Extra Subsistence of Capt.
Samuel Smith's Company, fifty eight Pounds two Shillings and
a penny Common money.
Ordered that the said Treasurer pay to Col. William Small-
wood five hundred Pounds on Account of the Continent.
Ordered that the following notice be given in the Maryland
Gazette.
"Wanted immediately a number of Labourers. Persons
applying to the commanding Officer of the Artillery at Annap-
olis for that purpose, will meet with Encouragement."

Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Captain John Day Scott ten pounds seventeen Shillings and
ten pence on Account of his Company.
That the said Treasurer pay to Cap^t Patrick Sim five
Pounds thirteen Shillings and eleven pence on Account of his
Company.
Copy of Letter N^o 14 was sent to M^r Jesse Hollingsworth,
Copy of N^o 15 to Thomas Smyth, Thomas Bedingfield Hands
and Joseph Nicholson Esquires. Copy of N^o 16 to Brigadier
General Buchanan, and Colonels Thomas Dorsey, Aquila Hall
and William Buchanan, Copy of N^o 17 to Edward Parker of
Cecil County, Copy of N^o 18 to M^r Amos Garrett, Copy of
N^o 19 to M^r Stephen Steward, and Copy of N^o 20 to Mess^rs
Archer & Harris of Harford County.
Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
M^r Beriah Mayberry five Pounds twelve Shillings and six
Pence for Boat hire to transport the Troops to the Head of
Elk.
Copy of Letter N^o 21 was sent to M^r Richard Dallam, Copy
of N^o 22 to M^r William Whetcroft, and Copy of N^o 23 to Col.
Thomas Dorsey.
Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Lieutenant William Harrison two hundred Pounds Currency
on Account of Cap^t Veazey's Company.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Reynolds
for the use of John Annis thirty one Shillings and seven pence
for repairing the Guard House in Annapolis.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to M^r Francis Smith
thirty one Pounds ten Shillings for leather Breeches.
