ordered the money to be transmitted.

[Beall to Council.]

Gentlemen. As there are not muskets provided for the
Militia & their guns being of different sizes, & as I think it
necessary we should be put in readiness to make the best
defence we possibly can, I pray your Hons would order that
out of the stock at Bladensburgh there may be 1/2 lb powder &
3 lb Lead lodged in my hands for each of the Comy which I
will see forthcoming when called for.

Saturday 17 February 1776.
Council met. Present as yesterday except Mr Carroll.

Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Mr Charles Wallace fifteen hundred pounds, and that the
Treasurer of the Eastern Shore pay him five hundred pounds
to be applied occasionally towards discharging the Pay of the
Forces of this Province.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt Peter Adams two hundred Pounds for Subsist & Advance
money for his Recruits.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Eastern Shore pay to
Capt Thomas Woolford One hundred and fifty pounds for the
purposes mentioned in the above Order.

Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Capt George Stricker four hundred and thirty two Pounds
sixteen Shillings for subsist money and to purchase Rifles for
the use of his Company of Light Infantry.
Mr Nicholas Harwood one of the Clerks of the Loan Office
delivered to the Council a Copy of the names of the principals
and Securities and also the Sums due on Bond, in Sterling, in
the Loan Office, which was ordered to be filed.
Adjourned till 3 O'Clock & met according to Adjournment.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Mr John Bullen sixteen pounds for carting the Records.
Adjourned till Monday morning 10 o'Clock.
