At a Council held at the City of St Marys in the Province
of Maryland the 6th Day of April in the fourth Year of the
Reign of Our Sovereign Lord and Lady King William and
Queen Mary &c Annoq Domini 1692

Of their
Majties Council

His Excellency produces to the Board here their Majties
Commission to him for the Government of this Province,
together with his Jnstructions which were openly read, and
thereupon the Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament to be
taken instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy
also the Oaths of Chief Governor, and of their Majestys privy
Council within this Province were in due form administred
unto him
The said Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament, and that of
a Privy Councillor were also administred to and taken by Col
Henry Jowles, Captn Nehemiah Blakiston, Thomas Tench
Esqr Captn John Addison and Captn John Courts distinctly
and severally in their due places according to form, and they
take their Places at the Board accordingly John LLewellin
sworn Clerke
Proposed by his Excellency and he demands of the Board
their Opinion touching the Provincial Court, and what Neces-
sity of holding the same at the time appointed very near at
hand, which being duely and maturely considered It is advised
and resolved that the Court do meet and sit at the time
appointed, and from thence adjourn to the next Day after, by
which Time new Commissions may be prepared by Virtue
whereof they may the more regularly proceed, to the hearing
and determining of all Matters relating to the Crown first, and
then to other Actions ready and fit for Tryal

Taken under Consideration the Case and Condition of
William Burley and George Mason Prisoners convict and
under Sentence of Condemnation for the Murther of Mr John
