                  370    Court and Testamentary Business, 1647—8.

             

              Liber A. ffeb: 14th Rich: Banks (att the request of Mr Cuth: ffenwick

               p. 139 Attorney of Capt Tho: Cornewalleyes) aged 35 yeares, or there

                   abouts deposed sayth That in the yeare 1644 he this Dept

                   payd unto Mr ffenwick Two hogsheads of Tob: waying 700 l or

                   thereabouts for the use of Capt Cornevalleys. wch sd hogsheads

                   was taken forceably away from this Depts howse by the

                   appoyntmt of Rich: Ingle Mariner & carryed aboard his ship.

                   This Dept att their taking them away demanded their authority.

                   And they tht fetched them answered. they would shew noe

                   authority adding further, who would or who durst say any

                   thing agst it. & further he sayth not

                   Jurat. Teste me               Richard Bankes

                     Willm Bretton Clk.

             

                    Walter Waterlin aged 40 yeares or thereabouts sayth uppon

                   his oath, that in the yeare 1644 Mr ffenwick had one hogshead

                   of Tob: lying in this Depts howse wch he this Dept & his mate

                   payd vnto the sd Mr ffenwick. And after tht Rich: Ingle

                   Marinr came into the Pro: (this Dept not being att home) some

                   of his followers carryed away the sd hogshead as those who

                   then lyued wth him in the same howse told this Dept & further

                   he sayth not             The mrk W of

                                         Walter Waterlin.

                   henry ifoxe 166 l Tob: wart to the sheriffe ret. 30 ffeb:

                   Edwin 200 l Tob

                    wart to the sheriffe, ret 30 ffeb:

                    Jno Prichard demandeth of Geoffrey Power 1 200 l Tob.

                    wart to the sheriffe ret. po Martij.

             

                    Henry Pountney demandeth of Edward Hudson 400 l Tob.

                   & charges of Court

                    Attatchmt to the Sheriffe ret. po Martij.

             

                     Margarett Brent demandeth of ffrancis Gray 600 l Tob:

                   & cask due by Bill. Attatchmt to the Sheriffe ret. po Martij.

             

                    Stanop Roberts demandeth of Wm Whitle 500 l Tob: for

                   dammages wch hee susteyneth in staying here, to proue the

                   Cutlace to bee his wch the sd Whitle sold unto hym. Wch sd

                   Cutlace Jno Prichard now layeth claime to bee his

                    warrt to the Sheriffe ret. p Martij.
